MISSION STATEMENT
The Columbus County Department of Social Services will strive to alleviate distress among the people of the county by promoting the general welfare and safe guarding of children, the elderly and disabled adults from abuse and neglect. We will encourage self sufficiency and promote personal responsibility.
This central email has been implemented for Non-Magi Medicaid beneficiaries to be able to email their verifications required for recertification.
To report abuse, neglect or exploitations of a child or an adult:
Any person who suspects that a Child or an Adult may be abused, neglected, dependent, or exploited should immediately report their concerns to the Columbus County Department of Social Services. Reports can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

- Reports may be submitted by email to: cpsintake@columbusco.org
- All messages sent to this address are automatically forwarded to the CPS Intake Workers and Intake Supervisor.
After-Hours, Weekends, and Holidays
- Call 911 and ask to be connected with the after-hours social worker.
- If calling from outside Columbus County, contact your local 911 center and request a transfer to Columbus County 911, then ask for the after-hours social worker. The 911 operator will notify the on-call worker, who will return your call.

- Counties requesting assistance with a child welfare matter should call:

- After-hours: Call 911 and request the CCDSS after-hours social worker
