Columbus County Teen Court Director

Part-Time Position / 24 hours weekly  

*Although this opportunity is being posted through Columbus County, please note that this position is paid through JCPC, which is funded through DPS. THIS IS NEITHER A COUNTY NOR STATE POSITION.*

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed candidate to plan, implement, manage and oversee the Teen Court Program for Columbus County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, administrative skills, and experience working with children, including troubled youth.  Interested applicants should be able to work collaboratively with schools, agencies, businesses, churches, civic groups, and families.

Duties:            

• Coordinate and oversee the Teen Court Program for Columbus County.
• Recruit and train community volunteers and teen/peer jury.
• Interview and conduct intake for students and families participating in the program.
• Be able to conduct parenting education/support group.
• Establish program goals and objectives and monitor and evaluate the program accordingly.
• Maintain all needed forms and paperwork.
• Update records and files on program participants.
• Process all required paperwork and reports on time.
• Maintain records for evaluation.
• Must be extremely organized.
• Must be able to establish a working relationship with county and state officials.
• Be able to create necessary materials for marketing.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human and Health Services, Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Must have experience in working with law enforcement, public school systems, and various county and state agencies. Must also possess knowledge of the judicial and law enforcement systems. Skills needed are financial and budget management, record keeping, public speaking, and volunteer recruitment. Must be computer proficient, flexible, resourceful and self-directed.

Salary Range: Dependent upon experience.  Up to $23/hour.
