  1. Administration – Approval of the HMGP-Florence Non-Expedited Bid for Group 1 Demolition of 2 houses: Assistant County Manager Gail Edwards is requesting approval of the Bid-Award from Group 1 in the amount of $20,700 for the demolition of a house located at 413 Angelo Circle and the other located at 214 W. Walter Street, Whiteville. This is fully grant funded. (Gail Edwards will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

  1. Emergency Services – Approval of the Proposal from Retro Environmental, Inc for Asbestos Abatement of Building C - 911 Center: Emergency Services Director David Ransom is requesting approval of the proposal from Retro Environmental, Inc. for the asbestos abatement of Building C – 911 Center in the amount of $14,250. This project is being funded through the SCIF allocation. (Nick West will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

  1. Sheriff’s Office – Approval of Capital Project Ordinance for Department of Public Safety Grant: Sheriff William Rogers is requesting approval of the Department of Public Safety Grant Project Ordinance in the amount of $980,000. (Sheriff Rogers will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

  1. Attorney’s Office – Approval to Transfer the Deed for Williams Township School to the Columbus County Board of Education: Attorney Amanda Prince is requesting approval to transfer the deed for Williams Township School to the Columbus County Board of Education. (Amanda Prince will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

  1. Finance – Acceptance of Lead for North Carolina Fellow for Columbus County:

Finance Director Lacie Jacobs is requesting acceptance of the Lead for North Carolina Fellow for Columbus County for FY 24-25. (Lacie Jacobs will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

 

  1. Finance – Approval of the Monthly Report for February 2024, Change Orders, and Budget Amendments: Finance Director, Lacie Jacobs, is requesting approval of the following Monthly Report for February 2024, change orders, and budget amendments:
    1. Financial Report as of February 2024
    2. Historic Courthouse Change Order #4 - Wall
    3. Historic Courthouse Change Order #5 - Sidewalks

  1. Governing Body - Approval to have a Budget Workshop for Sheriff's Office: Chairman Ricky Bullard is requesting approval to hold a Budget Workshop for the Sheriff's Office, April 8th, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. in the Commissioners Chambers.

 

  1. Appointments/Re-Appointments/Replacements: Staff is requesting appointments, re-appointments or replacements to the following boards, committees and councils.

  1. Water and Sewer District I, II, III, IV, and V – Approval of the Water and Sewer Combination Minutes:

  1. Water and Sewer Districts IV and V - Approval of the Resolution and Bid Award to KBS Construction Company and Notice to Proceed for the Lakeland Village Up Fit Project and Marlowe Road Waterline Extension: Public Utilities Director Harold Nobles is requesting approval of the Resolution and issuance of the bid in the amount of $838,260 to KBS Construction Company and the notice to proceed for the Lakeland Village up fit Project and Marlowe Road waterline extension. This work is all grant funded. (Harold Nobles will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)

 

  1. Water and Sewer District V - Approval to Pay Invoice for Bills Well Drilling for Guideway Elementary School Test Well: Public Utilities Director Harold Nobles is requesting approval to pay the invoice from Bill’s Well Drilling for the Guideway Elementary School Test Well in the amount of $11,375 which will be paid using the SCIF allocation. (Harold Nobles will be available for any questions the commissioners may have.)
