Our Dedication to Existing Industry

The Columbus County Economic Development Commission places a very high value on the existing industry in the county. We work to support existing industry as much as possible. Local incentives are offered for expansions that create jobs and investment.

A revolving loan program is available for small companies trying to start-up or take the next growth step. Site visits are made annually or as frequently as possible. Annual surveys help the county compile statistical data but also affords companies an opportunity to request assistance or notify the office of a pending expansion.

Keeping the lines of communication open in both directions is very important.

Columbus County's commitment to existing industry includes a number of programs and activities.

These include:
• Industry Visits
• Wage and benefit surveys
• Grant and financial assistance for plant expansions
• Programs and seminars for plants
